LIGHTNING CONDUCTOR LINKAGE

One of the most practical and cost effective means of providing protection from lightning is to utilise the aluminium rainwater system as a continuous conductor.

Previously aluminium rainwater systems had a much reduced capacity as conductors due to lack of continuity caused by silicone or mastic bedding at each joint. The Stormguard lightning linkage has overcome these problems by bridging each joint in the system.

Lightening Conductor Linkage - External Gutter System

Stormguard can provide on all rainwater systems a lightning conductor linkage that will bridge each joint in the gutter and between fittings. The purpose designed bridge is flexible, not affected by thermal movement, is hidden from view and provides total continuity over all joints.

Where specified all rainwater gutters will be prepared, masked and pre-drilled to accommodate the linkage prior to polyester powder coating. All nuts, bolts, washers and inhibitor are supplied as standard.

Note : The lightning conductor linkage is not recommended for use on exterior rainwater pipes. A continuous conductor tape positioned at the rear of external pipework is a more efficient method for external pipe applications.

On completion of any installation the system should be tested by a qualified electrical engineer to BS 6651 1985 standards.
